In the early 1970’s, a group of women began to pray that the Lord would provide many effective Bible Studies in the Washington, DC area. Shortly after, the first Community Bible Study began in Bethesda Maryland. Fast forward to 2010. There are over 40,000 people involved in CBC in the United States and abroad.
I became involved with CBS 12 years ago in Youngstown, Ohio. The weekly studies and group time keep me in the Word. I love the fact that the class isn’t connected to any denomination, but includes people from many different churches. We all come together to study God’s Word and take from it exactly what He wants to tell us.
CBS is now helping me with my current job as I interact with churches from many different denominations about their giving, printing and communication needs.
For me the CBS Mission Statement says it all. "To make disciples of the Lord Jesus Christ in our communities through caring, in-depth Bible study, available to all."
